Day 1
ARRIVAL VIENTIANE (Lunch / Dinner)
Arrival at Vientiane - 'City of the Moon'. An ancient
city situated on a bend, on the left bank of the Mekong
River, it is the largest city and the capital of Laos.
You will be met by our representative and transferred to
the hotel for check-in. After lunch, there will be a
sightseeing tour of Vientiane and a visit to the
religious museums of Wat Sisaket. Next, gear up for the
oldest surviving temple since the Siamese War of 1828
(with a cloister containing more than 8000 Buddha
statues): Wat Ho Prakeo - the former home-temple of the
Emerald Buddha statue or Pra Keo. It contains a vast
collection of Buddha statues, antiques and artifacts
from around Vientiane. Also see the That Luang Stupa,
the single most important monument in Laos. It was built
to cover the original small stupa which contained a
piece of the chest bone of Buddha. Then, visit Patouxay
(Arch de Triumph), which was built quite recently in
commemoration of those who died during the many wars in
the past and is today a land mark of Vientiane. End with
dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2 VIENTIANE / LUANG PRABANG (Breakfast / Lunch /
Dinner)
After breakfast, transfer to Wattay airport for flight
to Luang Prabang, the ancient first capital of the Lane
Xang Kingdom. It is today a religious center in Laos and
a certified World Heritage City. After arrival in Luang
Prabang, you will get to visit this sacred city of
nearly fifty temples - including Wat Visoun (a 16th
century temple and museum of religious artifacts), Wat
Xiengthong (a 16th century temple which epitomizes the
elegance and grace of Luang Prabang architecture), and
Wat Aham (an early 19th century temple). Continue on to
Phousi Hill and its 328 steps leading up to the summit.
End with dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 3 LUANG PRABANG - PAK OU CAVE (Breakfast / Lunch
/ Dinner)
After breakfast, take an excursion to visit the Pak Ou
Cave. It is situated in the side of a lime stone cliff
and directly opposite the mouth of the Mekong and Nam Ou
rivers. On the way, visit some typical Laotian villages,
like Ban Xanghai - a village famous for its rice whisky.
After lunch, visit Ban Xangkhong, a well-known village
for its wood papermaking and traditional silk weavings.
End with dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 4 LUANG PRABANG / VIENTIANE (Breakfast / Lunch /
Dinner)
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel. Then, proceed
to the National Museum. It was formerly the Royal Palace
and now houses a large collection of valuable historical
artifacts, including the famous Prabang Buddha Statue,
royal gifts received from foreign dignitaries, etc... In
the afternoon, transfer to Wattay airport for departure
back to Vientiane. Upon arrival, visit the renowned
weaving village of the Tai Deang ethnic group: Ban
Nongbouatthong. Next, visit the Morning Market - the
best
shopping place in Vientiane. End with dinner at a local
restaurant.
Day 5 DEPARTURE VIENTIANE (Breakfast)
Bid a sad farewell to Vientiane today. After breakfast,
transfer to the airport for the flight back home and
with a collection of sweet memories of an enjoyable
holiday with us.
